"A Visit from the Goon Squad" by American writer Jennifer Egan, published by Minimum Fax, winner of the Pulitzer Prize in 2011, is an unusual novel, consisting of thirteen stories, heterogeneous setting and style, but interwoven in a dense plot, linked by use of the same characters. The style of the stories is always different, yet always full, shiny, brilliant.
It is the story of Bennie Salazar, a former punk musician and now record of success, and his right arm trustworthy idris elba golden globes Sasha, a woman's wrist but turbulent history. Story that unfolds between past and future, from a San Francisco underground of the late seventies in a futuristic New York and senseless in which text messages and social network structure the collective emotions, to the Baroque center, desolate and bleak, of Naples, where the past is stuck under the crumbling facades of the buildings and shines in small bursts.
